Leading homelessness charity St Mungo’s’ commitment to Inclusivity and diversity has been recognised as it is named as one of the UK’s Top 50 inclusive employers.

The list – complied by Inclusive Companies and unveiled today (2 December) – celebrates UK-based organisations which promote inclusion throughout each level of employment within their company, promoting all strands of diversity including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race, faith and religion.

St Mungo’s was ranked at number 32, and is the only homelessness charity to be included, and one of only a handful of charities to feature.

Steve Douglas CBE, Chief Executive of St Mungo’s said: “We are delighted and proud to have our work recognised in this prestigious list.

“As an organisation, equality and diversity is central to all our work, and inclusion is one of the core values which underpin everything we do to end homelessness and rebuild lives.

“We acknowledge that there is always more work to do, both as an organisation and in society as a whole, but by valuing the background, experiences, and strengths of all our staff and clients, we work hard to ensure that those who work for us and with us feel genuinely valued.”

Inclusive Companies CEO Paul Sesay who founded the list, said: “Companies featured on this year’s list have felt the importance of ensuring individual voices are heard and standing up as responsible employers against discrimination and inequality.

“Those who ranked are on a continuous journey but have made it their mission to advocate for inclusive workplaces where everyone feels empowered to be the very best they can be.”

The list was compiled by a panel of judges, and was collated based on each organisation’s performance in a range of areas within the diversity arena.

The organisations included evidenced their commitment to inclusivity in areas such as recruitment procedures, training and a host of diversity related initiatives.
