Homelessness charity St Mungo’s has announced that Joanna Killian is to be its next Chair of Trustees.
Joanna is Chief Executive of Surrey County Council and previously Essex County Council. Prior to her current role, she was a Partner and Head of Local Government and Devolution at KPMG LLP.
She has been a member of St Mungo’s 12-strong unpaid Board of Trustees since February 2019. Her other non-executive roles have included Board Member at London and Quadrant Housing and Chairperson of SOLACE, the professional organisation representing Chief Executives in local government. She is currently a trustee at Nesta.
Joanna will take up the post in September 2021 after a selection process that included St Mungo’s clients and staff.
She will succeed Robert Napier CBE who will step down after six years as Chair. He said: “I am delighted that Joanna has been successfully appointed and we will be working closely together over the coming months in order to ensure a smooth transition.”
