Cookies
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small data file of letters and numbers that is downloaded from our website by your computer. We use these cookies to help provide you with a good experience when browsing our website and they also allow us to improve our site.
Cookies are not programs and do not collect any data from your computer.
How we use cookies
The St Mungo’s website uses a number of ‘essential’ cookies that allow the site to function, particularly related to taking online donations. These are run by our payment platform, WooCommerce, and only activate when you go to make a donation. These cookies are removed at the end of your session on the site.
Our website also uses ‘analytical’ cookies from Google Analytics, which recognise and count the number of visitors to our website and also allow us to see how visitors move around the site when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.
We also use ‘advertising’ cookies that allow for the personalisation of ads across the Google network (including search results and YouTube). Information about these specifically can be found at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
The information that we gather through these cookies is completely anonymous and visitors to our website cannot be identified personally. You can opt out of cookies at any time in the preferences menu (located in the bottom right of your browser at all times).
Third party and social media site cookies
Please note that our other online partners and social network sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and TikTok, may also use cookies, over which we have no control. Those that activate on our site are listed below. Please check the website of the relevant third party for information on their cookie policy.
